PB wins Tourney Championship!
With the victory, PB gets homefield advantage in District Tourney. John Hastings gets CG, 6-hitter in Championship Game/Lance Hundt drives in game-winner, silences Carl's 4-3.
With gas prices what they are, The Peanut Barrel Bar & Grill Semi-Pro Club Men's Baseball Team got some good news on Sunday the 29th... they don't have to drive anywhere. With a 4-3 victory over Carl's Supermarket, PBB claimed the City League Tournament Championship (to go along with their Regular Season Championship) and, more importantly, garnered home field advantage for the District Tournament. The Barrel will square off against a team (TBD) from the Flint area in a best-of-3 series starting Friday night at 6:15 pm. Should they split Friday night, the teams would meet in a rubber match on Saturday; the winner of the series advances to the State Tournament in Battle Creek the following weekend. In the Championship game, the Barrel trailed 3-1 heading into the top of the 5th. Pete Ott then opened the inning with a triple to right center field. Obviously flustered and feeling the winds of change, Carl's starting pitcher then proceeded to walk Elijah Beckwith and Matt Soergel. A pitching change was then made. It did not help. The new pitcher then walked Brennan Powers to force in a run... then walked Josh Hundt to force in another run. With the game tied at 3's and after a PB strikeout... Lance Hundt delivered a single off of the reliever's glove that deflected into foul territory scoring the would-be game winner. John Hastings then pitched a perfect 5th, 6th, and 7th to seal the game and send Carl's to the 3 dollar-a-gallon pumps for their drive to Kalamazoo on Friday. An unofficial record-breaking crowd took in the final game on Sunday... witnesses claim at least 4 bakers' dozen came on out.
AND YOU SHOULD TOO! That's right, c'mon out and support your favorite local eatery! The District tourney starts Friday at 6:15... I know I'll be there. It's where all the cool people are going. You want to be cool don't you? Go Barrel!

GOT SOME RECOMMENDATIONS???
Always eager to please, pass along any thoughts on how to make the website better. (Put 'em in the forum)
THAT'S RIGHT! Welcome to the home of Peanut Barrel Baseball! Literally tens of people have expressed interest in seeing the has-beens that make up the PBB Flamin' Nuts on the web! And now you've got it. I guess this is a lesson in being careful what you wish for. Anyway, stay tuned all summer for updates and impending failure rates of the team you love to love. This year's team will no doubt carry on the wonderful... I guess you could say... "tradition" that is Peanut Butter Baseball. And if you've got time to waste... come on out to Muni and catch a few innings. Watch us toss the ball around and try to look somewhat legitimate. Speaking of tossing... you'll definitely see bats, helmets, and even PLAYERS tossed from many of these games. It'll be entertaining... to say the least.
Come on out and support Peanut Butter Baseball! And remember... 2 Long Island limit doesn't mean you can't have more Jack and Coke!!!
We'll be putting pictures from the games in the photos part if you want to look at them.
